FAQs

How long will it take?

If your wedding is between January - June your frame will be on its way to you between 12-20 weeks. If your wedding is July - December your frame will be on it’s way to you between 4-12 weeks. The difference in timings is due to our peak seasons. It is a time consuming process but so worth the wait! We will be in touch and keep you updated.

How do I pay?

Upon booking you require to pay a $150 non-refundable deposit through our secure payment portal on our website to secure your booking. You can use a credit or debit card. Before we begin designing your frame (approximately 8 weeks after your wedding) we will send you an invoice for the remaining balance which can be paid via credit card or bank transfer.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes it is recommended to book in advance as spots are limited. Please book online here.

Can I change the size & style of my frame when I see my bouquet?

Yes absolutely! You can down size or up size when you see your flowers. You can also add on a boutonnière or gift frame if you wish!

I’m not getting married in Wanaka. Can I still preserve my frame?

We have a drop off locations in Christchurch & Wānaka. If you are not getting married in either of those locations - don’t worry! You can ship your bouquet to us from anywhere in NZ. We will send you simple shipping instructions to get your flowers to us safely. Once they arrive safely we will let you know, and begin out preserving process.

My flowers are already dried, can you still work with them?

We have a custom frame option for already dried flowers. You can find out more information and book to frame your blooms here.

I am getting married in New Zealand but live overseas. Can you ship pressed flower frames internationally?

Yes! We can ship internationally.

Australia shipping- $135

Rest of world shipping- $195

You are responsible for your particular countries taxes and fees upon the arrival of your frame. Unfortunately these costs are out of our control.

Do the flowers keep their colour?

Some flowers will change colour more than others. Keeping the ‘feel’ of the bouquet is very important to Botanic Press when completing your final piece, but the flowers will change as they lose their moisture content.

Will all of the flowers be pressed?

Yes, but at times the odd flower will not press well—this is usually dependant on the condition of the bouquet when we receive it. Also, some flowers will not be used for the final piece—this just depends on how the frame looks best once it comes to arranging.

How will my frame last?

The colour of the flowers will change naturally overtime (some more than others), adding to the poetic charm of the piece. For optimal conservation avoid direct sunlight and protect from humidity. The frames are sturdy and have UV glass, however, they do need to be treated with care as some flower fragments can drop within the frame over time.

Are there any flowers that cannot be pressed?

Botanic Press only work with fresh flowers. Some dried flowers which are incorporated into a bouquet can be pressed as long as they’re not too large. There are some flowers that press well and others that don’t—if you have any queries before booking, please send a message to enquire.

Please click to read Which Flowers Press Well.

For already dried flowers we can frame your flowers in a different style here.

Do you commission art?

You are able to send us any bunch of flowers from any occasion and we can frame these for you! Botanic Press also regularly release a bespoke selection of pressed floral frames & prints through our online shop. Please sign up to the mailing list for release dates as these often sellout quickly.

Do you offer workshops?

Yes in the quieter months (over Winter) we do hold workshops at our Wānaka studio. This is a fun evening with drinks & nibbles and you create a mini frame. Please get in touch if you would like us to offer a workshop for your group (Hens parties, work team building etc).
